“CAN I CALL

YOU?”

THE PODCAST

That text. No context, no details—just sky-is-falling panic.

Founders Emma Bates, Charlotte Palermino, and Eva Goicochea get these texts a lot. Emma started Diem, the only search engine inspired by how women search the internet. Eva built Founders' Weekend (a community for founders) and maude (a sexual wellness brand), to help with business and business. And Charlotte? She’s the founder of Dieux and the internet’s go-to authority on skincare and social issues—from “Is this normal?” to “Why is this still legal?”

Together amassing 700k+ followers and millions more brand customers, we’re putting the CICY conversations we’ve come across on the mic. Each episode, we pull a FAQ from the bowl and give it to you straight (with surprise cameos)—no sugarcoating, no clichés, just the kind of advice you’d get if you had our emergency line on speed dial.

Need advice? A gut check? A reality slap? Consider this answering the phone.

Spring 2025

THE HOSTS

Emma Bates (Diem)
Building the future of search and online discourse—think Reddit meets ChatGPT—but smarter, safer & actually built for women and LGBTQIA+ folks. She’s rewriting the social & search playbook, where no question is too taboo and no one has to ask,“Is this normal?”

  • Emma Bates is the CEO and co-founder of Diem, the revolutionary social search engine designed to redefine the way information is shared online. Inspired by the longstanding tradition of women exchanging knowledge through conversation, Diem is on a mission to bridge the gender information gap and build a more inclusive, community-driven internet.

Emma isn’t just building a platform—she’s rewriting the social playbook, proving that tech, trust, and transparency can coexist. Her unique approach to marketing, partnerships, and community building has earned her a spot on Forbes’ “30 Under 30” and features in Fortune, HuffPost, MSNBC, Girlboss, Inc., Entrepreneur, and The Cut.

Before launching Diem, Emma was Head of Community at Whalar, a global creator commerce company, and led partnerships at Away, where she helped scale the brand into a household name. Born in Singapore and raised in the UK, Emma earned her BA from King’s College London before moving to New York City in 2016. Now, she’s paving the way for a new internet—one where no one has to ask, “Can I say this?”

Charlotte Palermino (Dieux) TikTok’s beauty truth-teller, industry watchdog, and skincare myth-buster, taking on both bad formulas and broken systems. Fights beauty myths and BS in equal measure—whether it’s “Will this ruin my skin?” or “Why is this still legal?”

  • Charlotte Palermino is the co-founder and Chief Brand Officer of Dieux, an award-winning, clinically vetted, and price-transparent skincare brand that has skyrocketed to cult status in just four years, landing in all doors at Sephora. A fierce advocate for transparency in both beauty and policy, Charlotte has built a career at the intersection of science, skincare, and social activism, cutting through the noise to give people the facts—whether it’s about ingredients, industry regulations, or the broken systems behind them.

Before launching Dieux, she spearheaded editorial strategy at Snap Inc. and wrote for The Cut, ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, and Bon Appétit, cementing herself as a trusted voice in beauty, culture, and media. But it’s on TikTok, where she has amassed 500,000+ followers, that she’s truly changed the game—debunking myths, challenging outdated standards, and making skincare (and social justice) more accessible.
